The Coronavirus is Everywhere, Even in Entertainment News

One may think that the entertainment genre of news stays relatively inside its own bubble, especially relating to recent panics and global events. However, the new Coronavirus goes to show that entertainment section of news sites is not impenetrable, as events all over the world are being affected by the newest pandemic. In hopes of preventing the further spread of the virus, several musicians and music festivals are postponing concert dates.

Several websites, including CNN and USA Today have uploaded articles on these events. Both sites reported on the postponing of Coachella, a famous annual music festival that occurs in California, here and here. Sources say the festival may be postponed until October from its usual date in the April. CNN has reported other bands cancelling tours because of the virus as well, including Pearl Jam, a rock band based in Seattle, one of the epicenters of the virus within the United States.

Musicians' and festivals' sources of income are facing major threats from the virus, as major parts of enjoying music from bands occur in tight spaces with fans.
