Olivia Jade Giannulli, YouTube personality and former UCLA student, finally broke her silence on her family's "big mistake" following a rather quiet year. The internet star's family, including Full House actress Lori Loughlin, fell into the public spotlight after it was found that her parents had paid larger sums of money to insiders within UCLA to help Jade gain admittance to the college. Jade's parents were sentenced each to months in jail, and Jade and her sister stopped attending the college. Due to privacy laws, UCLA could not confirm if the sisters were expelled.
Recently, according to CNN and ABC news, Olivia appeared on a new episode of "Red Table Talk", a talk show hosted by Jada Pinkett Smith. After previously remaining silent on the isssue, Olivia revealed that she had felt angry about what had happened, and did not know the full story of what had to happen for her to get admitted to UCLA.
"It's been hard, for anybody no matter what the situation is you don't want to see your parents go to prison but also I think it's necessary for us to move on and move forward," she said."What happened was wrong and I think every single person in my family can look at it and be like that was messed up, that was a big mistake but I think what's so important to me is to learn from the mistake. Not to be shamed and punished and never given a second chance... I'm 21. I feel like I deserve a second chance to redeem myself to show I've grown."
