News outlets everywhere have reported on the possible impact of the Coronavirus to education, including Inside Higher Ed, US News And World Report, and Education Week. On Tuesday, federal health officials warned of the imminent threat the Coronavirus poses to life in the US, even as China begins to see successes in containment. Other countries do not enjoy that same success; this week has brought a new burst of the virus in Iran and Italy, and officials say the US should prepare for danger.
The Coronavirus has already caused a significant impact; as Inside Higher Ed reports, US Universities with Chinese branches have had to make the quick transition to online teaching and schooling. The virus may soon begin to affect schooling within the United States. The plan of precautions laid out by health officials includes:
Making a plan for virus testing
Separating large classses
Creating a plan for teleschool or online school
Closing school
